Do I need a paddle float for kayaking?

A paddle float helps to stabilise the kayak when needed. For example, if you have capsized and need to climb back in. The float makes re-entry easier as the kayak becomes more stable. It can also be used at other times when extra stability is welcome, such as when adjusting foot pegs or taking a snack break on the water!

The float comes in bright yellow and has reflective strips on both sides for good visibility in the water. As it is adjustable, it fits virtually all paddle types. With the help of straps and a cord, the float fits securely on different models.

Using the paddle float
The paddle float is both convenient and easy to use! – Attach the float to one paddle blade and tighten the lower cord. Blow air through the mouthpiece until the float is fully inflated. Use the final clip to secure the float in place. Angle the paddle straight out from the kayak at a 90° angle. When you are done, quickly deflate the float by pressing in the mouthpiece.
